MinWave CTO, Dr. Maliheh Khatibi, participated in 16th European Conference on Antenna and propagation (EUCAP ) in Madrid in March 2022 and then European microwave week (EUMW ) in London in April 2022. She presented our recent developments on bent meta-filters and ka-band filters to discuss MinWave capabilities on miniaturization of microwave filters for space and telecommunications.
One of our innovative method for creating miniaturize waveguide filters based on locally resonant metamaterials (LRMs) was published in the prestigious journal of Physical Review Applied in August 2021. The ultrasmall metamaterial filters (metafilters) are utilizing a subwavelength (sub-λ) guiding mechanism in evanescent hollow waveguides, loaded with small resonant elements. Also, we suggested a subwavelength technique, which we refer to as a metaport, to match the small filters to standard interfaces.
MinWave Joined the ESA Business Incubation Centre Switzerland (ESA BIC CH) ( https://www.esabic.ch/) on May 10th 2021 and succesfully passed the midterm review in September 2021.
ESABIC is a nationwide initiative powered by the European Space Agency (ESA) and one of the world’s leading universities: ETH Zurich. The incubator offers extensive support packages (technical, business and financial support plus networking and community building) to startups that exploit technologies related to space for application on earth or technologies from earth adapted for usage in space. This relates to application fields such as navigation and positioning, telecommunication, cybersecurity, earth observation, materials & processes, space transportation & logistics or robotics. MinWave got 200kCHF financial supports and 80hours technical supports, while it is connected to ESABIC partners
